Hui Kang, MD, is a board-certified pain management specialist and anesthesiologist with a contagiously positive demeanor. At Houston Pain Specialists, he compassionately creates custom treatment plans for patients in and around Houston who are managing short- and long-term pain. Throughout his career, Dr. Kang has earned awards both for building relationships with patients and for his dedication to quality care.
During his senior year at Texas A&M University, Dr. Kang earned the Faculty Achievement Award for his leadership skills and outstanding academic accomplishments. He went on to earn his medical degree in Lubbock, Texas, at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. Soon after graduating, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, to complete his residency training and a fellowship in pain management at University Hospitals Case Medical Center, affiliated with Case Western Reserve University. There, he was doubly recognized for his excellence, named outstanding resident and then a chief fellow.
Today, Dr. Kang is board certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the Houston Pain Chapter of the Texas Pain Society as well as the Harris County Medical Society. During his time in Houston, he has earned the Top Doctor Houston Award for Anesthesiology and another award for consistently seeing his patients on time.
Dr. Kang enjoys learning about new advancements in his field to bring to his patients as well as writing his own articles for medical publications. At Houston Pain Specialists, Dr. Kang focuses on giving patients the least invasive treatments possible for maximum pain relief results. He specializes in treating arthritis pain, sciatica, disc problems, general neck and back pain, headaches, and more.
When he isn’t in the office treating patients and teaching them to manage their conditions, Dr. Kang enjoys spending time with his wife and son. With them, he loves to watch movies and go out to eat.
